Teenage sexting trend has been grown all over the world especially in
youngsters. Statistics are tremendously varied, but generally indicates that
between 15% and 40% youngsters are indulged in sexual behaviour. There are not
much efficient methods to monitor these trends outside the legal system. To
curb this menace sex education should be prevailed in educational institutes.
Current education programmes fail young people and deny them the opportunities
to make informed choices.
The UK government has introduced a modified education system and will be
compulsory from September 2020. This new curriculum suggests people will learn
about safe online relationships such as issues of consent and peer pressure
within the context of sexting between young people. In UK age of sexual consent
is 16, whereas the age a person can legally send a naked image is 18.
